Waco stands for - Weaver Aircraft Company of Ohio.  The Waco
UPF-7 was developed to train our pilots to fight in WWII. It was built
as a primary trainer. There were 598 built originally and less than 80
remain in airworthy condition. Majority are in museums. Built from
1937-1942.
